Privacy notice
The Society of Neuro Diagnostic Technology (“SNDT”, “we”) is the data fiduciary for this portal. This notice explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It is written for the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and for members outside India who expect a clear privacy notice. Last updated 9 October 2026.
What we collect
- Identity and contact details you submit: name, date of birth, gender if you choose to give it, address, email, phone, username and password.
- Professional details: qualification, institution, designation, experience and licence or registration number.
- Documents you upload, a photograph, and a live selfie taken in the browser for identity matching.
- Membership, payment-ledger, examination, certificate, event, CPD and voting records created in the portal.
- Technical records: sign-in attempts, audit events, IP address and the time of a form submission. These are used to protect accounts.
- Messages you send through the contact form.
Why we use it
We use this information to receive and decide membership applications, issue a Member ID and certificates, run examinations, provide study material, keep the register accurate, and protect the portal from misuse. The selfie and photograph are compared by the membership committee. They are not published on the public website.
Who can see it
You can see your own record. The membership committee and administrators can see applications and member files for society work. Certificate verification shows only the status a third party needs. We do not sell personal information. A payment gateway, if one is connected later, will receive only what that payment needs.
How long we keep it
Membership, examination and certificate records are kept for the life of the membership and for seven years after it ends, unless a longer period is required for a dispute or a legal duty. Rejected applications are kept for three years. Security logs are kept for one year.
Your choices
You may ask the office to correct your profile, to see what we hold, or to raise a grievance. Some records, including an issued certificate and the audit trail, cannot be deleted while the society must keep them. You may withdraw consent for optional messages. Withdrawal does not undo a membership decision already made.
Security
Passwords are stored with a one-way hash. Pages are protected against cross-site request forgery. Documents are stored outside public browsing, and downloads are checked against your role. Use a unique password and sign out on a shared computer.
